Different sizes for different requirements.
Pots and pans are used in the kitchen almost daily, so it’s always convenient to have the right lid for each pot. Whether you cook frequently or only occasionally, a good lid is an essential tool. Some dishes require cooking with the lid on, and even when boiling pasta water, using a lid helps speed up the process while saving energy. Of course, accidents can happen in the kitchen, and a lid might break. Or perhaps you’re looking for a lid for your favourite pan that originally came without one.
Whether it’s for a meat, stew or vegetable pot, your trusted roasting dish, or a high-quality cast iron wok – our range includes replacement lids for nearly all our pots, roasters, and pans. When it comes to equipping your kitchen, your personal needs are key. What sizes of pots and pans do you require to bring all your culinary ideas to life?
There’s a saying that “every pot finds its lid” – and we take that quite literally by ensuring that our range includes replacement lids for common cookware.
It’s easy for a lid to fall and break in a moment of haste or distraction. To ensure your pot or pan remains fully usable, replacing the lid is a simple and practical solution. This way, you don’t have to replace your favourite pot, pan, or roaster, and you can continue preparing your favourite meals as usual. Search no more – you've found the perfect match!.
Would you like to replace your original pot lid? For most series in our range, this is no problem at all. For example, the Cailin pot lid is available as a replacement in various sizes. Many other kela series also offer a selection of replacement lid sizes to match your cookware.
Our stewing and serving pans are supplied with lids. A lid is also included with the woks. If there is a need for a replacement, most of them can be purchased separately.
Roasters and frying pans are generally always fitted with a roasting lid, as many dishes are cooked or braised for a longer period of time. Whether it's a hearty roast or a variety of braised vegetables, kela offers a range of replacement lids for roasters so that the cookware does not have to be discarded prematurely.
Just like the cookware itself, there are matching lids made from different materials. Our glass lids for pots, woks and roasters offer a wide selection. The lid handles or lid knobs are made of silicone, bakelite or stainless steel. Depending on the material, the lids are suitable for different temperatures and some can also be used in the oven. For roasters in particular, it is important that the lids are heat-resistant and can be placed in the oven during cooking. If the food is served in a pot, the heat can be retained very well inside the pot when the lid is closed.
Our saucepan ranges, as well as woks and some roasters, are fitted with glass lids. Glass lids close very well due to their weight and the heat remains inside the pot. A clear advantage of a glass lid is that you can always see what you are cooking and frying. Some glass lids have outlet valves so that the steam can escape. This minimises the risk of boiling over. Another special feature of some glass lids is the flavour button, which can be used to add liquid when the lid is closed. Great for flavouring roast food with wine, for example.
Some cookware ranges are equipped with a lid with a silicone rim. In addition to a great look, this ensures optimum closing and makes the lid relatively impact-resistant. Two outlet valves are integrated into the silicone rim so that steam can escape.
The cast iron roasters in the Calido range are fitted with a matching lid, and are also made of cast iron. This ensures an all-round harmonious look and has many advantages. Due to their weight, the lids close perfectly and, like the roaster itself, they are heat-resistant up to 300° C. The roaster is currently available in three different colours - a modern grey, a classic red and a very stylish black. If you need a replacement lid for this very robust and durable cookware, most of them are available directly from kela.
Are you looking for a suitable lid for your pot? If the pot is still intact but the lid is unfortunately not, you can get the original lid from the series for most pots from kela. There are basically different shapes of lids. The matching lids for pots are usually round, for roasters oval or square. The size should be determined so that the lid fits the pot as well as possible. An ordinary ruler or tape measure is sufficient for measuring. Use this to measure the distance from the top inside edge of the pot to the opposite side. Common sizes for pots are 16, 20 and 24 cm. The usual sizes for frying pans are 20, 24 and 28 cm. Woks usually have a diameter of 32 cm or 36 c.
Most common cooking pots are round - as are our pots from various series. The saucepans are normally fitted with a matching round lid. The rim and the handle are design elements of the lid. In the Cailin range, for example, the round pot handles are reflected in the round handle on the lid, while the design of the Flavoria range plays with modern, angular handles.
An angular shape is rather the exception in the cookware segment, but this shape offers a lot of space. With the Kerros rectangular roaster, you can equip your kitchen with a stylish and versatile roaster. The lid can either be used to close the roaster when cooking, or you can use the lid separately as a casserole dish.
Oval lids are usually found on roasters. Although cast aluminium or cast iron roasters are also available in a round shape, the larger roasters are oval. As a large number of dishes are prepared in the roasting pan with the lid closed, the matching oval lid is always included in the scope of delivery.
Pot lids with a diameter of 16 or 20 cm are for the small pots in your kitchen equipment. These include medium-sized saucepans, as well as small roasting and meat pots, such as our Cailin roasting pot. Small pots are useful for heating milk, boiling small quantities of rice or pasta or for sauces. Are you looking for a suitable saucepan lid with a diameter of 16 cm or 20 cm?
The pot lids with a diameter of 24 cm and 28 cm are for large meat, vegetable and roasting pots. Depending on their height, these pots have a volume of around 5 to 12 litres. They are suitable for cooking vegetables, pasta or for preparing stews. The Cailin vegetable pot with a diameter of 28 cm and a height of 21 cm is certainly one of the larger ones. Do you already know our Flavoria serving pan with matching 28 cm lid?
The woks in our range have really large pan lids with a diameter of 32 cm or even 36 cm. Cooking in a wok is simply something different. It's fun, easy to prepare and the ingredients stay crisp and retain their nutrients as well as possible. The Kerros wok is supplied with a matching 32 cm pan lid, while the cast iron woks in the Calido range come with a 36 cm diameter pan lid.
Do you have a favourite pan that no longer has a lid? And are there individual pan dishes for which a lid would be very practical? With the Concetta range, you can bring an adaptable universal lid into your kitchen. The glass lid with a wide silicone rim is available in three sizes. Each size fits three pot sizes thanks to the graduated silicone rim. These lids also have a steam release valve. This means that there is always a suitable lid for pots from 16 to 32 cm in diameter. Ingenious, isn't it?
Almost all glass lids from the kela range can be placed in the oven up to 180° C for stewing or keeping warm. Some glass lids are even suitable up to 220° C. Cast iron lids are heat-resistant up to 300° C. It is particularly important for roasters to be equipped with a heat-resistant lid, as many dishes are prepared in the oven with the lid closed. Please be sure to observe the respective item description and instructions for use for each item.
Although most lids are dishwasher-safe, we recommend cleaning them by hand. In general, the glass of the lid can tarnish over time, as can also be the case with glasses. The lid also has a stainless steel rim all the way round. Although stainless steel can be put in the dishwasher, dishwasher tabs and dishwasher salt can cause the stainless steel rim to tarnish.
Cookware usually has standard diameters. To buy a replacement lid, simply measure the inside diameter of the pot or pan. Use a tape measure to measure the inside diameter from one side to the other. The rim is not measured.
